Privacy policy
This page explains what information LR-MAD.CO.UK collects when you visit, why it is collected, and what happens to it. The short version: we run a reference site, not a data operation, and we collect as little as the software allows.
Who we are
LR-MAD.CO.UK is a British field reference on military, special and rare Land Rovers. You can read more about the site on our About page.
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comments form (name, email address and the comment itself), along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it; the Gravatar service privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by this site.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example videos or images hosted elsewhere). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies and monitor your interaction with that content.
Media
Photographs and documents on this site are published for reference. If you appear in, own, or hold rights to any image and want it corrected or removed, contact us via the About page and we will act on it.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.
Your rights over your data
Under UK data protection law you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, and you can request that we erase it. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. Requests can be sent via the About page.
Where your data goes
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Beyond that, we do not sell, trade or share your data with anyone.
